I’ve been working on my first few editions of Dear Springfield Mama, and expect to launch right around the back-to-school season.
For those who missed it, Dear Springfield Mama will include ideas for getting outside with your kids, additional activities in Springfield, and a regular “Dinner Done Easy” segment with tips on cooking, grocery shopping, and more.
Thanks to those of you who replied to my first two emails with ideas for outdoor spots I should visit, and their go-to dinner ideas! I’ve been adding your ideas to my spreadsheet, and hope to highlight some reader favorites down the road.
My promise to you: I will keep things as local as possible — Springfield, Mo., and spots within a reasonable drive with a gaggle of kiddos. I believe deeply in connecting (or reconnecting) with our real-life community.
To deepen that effort, I’ve created a private Facebook group for readers of Dear Springfield Mama. The group is a place we can all share pictures or videos of outdoor places we’re exploring, or the occasional grocery deal that might round out dinner. One day, it might be a place mamas can organize playdate groups, launch community efforts, or just coexist with like-minded women.
It’ll be small to start, but that’s part of the charm. Feel free to invite friends to the group who might vibe with the newsletter. I’ll make sure they get added to the list.
Next time you hear from me, it will be with an official edition of Dear Springfield Mama. I’ve heard that adding photos to my emails might push them into spam, so be sure to add me to your email contacts to ensure you get it!
