About the Editor

I’m Brittany Meiling—a longtime journalist turned stay-at-home mom. I’m raising one spirited son here in Springfield and trying to savor the days while still making dinner, chasing creativity, and avoiding sticky play places when I can help it.

With just one child and the luxury of time that many moms don’t have, I realize I can do the legwork most parents don’t have time for. I use my background in reporting to dig up good outings, sort through what’s worth your time, and find the beauty buried beneath the search results.

Dear Springfield Mama is my offering to other moms: a practical, personal note to those in the mothering season of life. I hope it helps you feel a little more connected—to this place, to your child, and to yourself.

I’m Brittany
